ABOUT
Overview
The International Congress of Chinese Mathematicians (ICCM) was founded in 1998 by Shing-Tung Yau, president of the ICCM and chairman of the Board of Governors of the Shanghai Institute for Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences (SIMIS). A conference is held triennially to bring a large international mathematical community to converge in China, to celebrate recent outstanding achievements of fellow mathematicians. Several major awards are announced at this conference.
Mission
Strengthen ties among Chinese mathematicians worldwide, explore recent advances in mathematical sciences, and promote the development of mathematical research.
Annual Conference
In between the triennial conferences, the ICCM also convenes an annual conference as a means to promote research collaborations and to share research findings.
Headquarters
On January 3, 2025, the ICCM officially settled its headquarters in Shanghai, as part of SIMIS. Future ICCM sponsored activities are therefore expected to take place in Shanghai.
